The first and last breastfeeding moments with our beautiful 5.5-year-old daughter, Clémie. I waited a few weeks to share this, just in case she decided to nurse again, but it's clear she's moved on — and so must I. I wanted to take a moment to both celebrate and grieve this chapter with such a supportive community. Clémie naturally weaned from both bed-sharing and breastfeeding, just as we had hoped. I'm incredibly fortunate to have the unwavering support of my husband and family, which made this possible. Our breastfeeding journey has been a source of inspiration in so many areas of my life, from my small business to the voluntary work I do. I will always be grateful for it. Although Clémie only nursed at bedtime for the last few years, I hope that when we did breastfeed in public, we contributed, in our own small way, to normalising it. It saddens me to see the decline of breastfeeding in our society. Recent marketing strategies, like Tesco offering free infant feeding advice while mothers shop sponsored by a major formula company, deeply concern me. But we must remain positive and continue providing families with up-to-date, accurate, and unbiased information and support wherever we can. I sincerely hope that, should Clémie choose to breastfeed in the future, she will have all the support and resources she needs. To anyone currently breastfeeding and struggling — keep going!
